Night Calls
For the past few nights I’ve been hearing our resident hyaena across the river. He starts whooping a few hours after sundown and sometimes continues through the night until just before dawn. I’m not sure what Salty and the goats think, but they never seem too bothered by it. I enjoy his calling, all the more because a steadily rising river separates us.

No phone
My iphone died. I will hopefully have another by Saturday afternoon if anyone is wondering why I don’t answer. You can always call Katy or my mother if you need to get in touch. I have my computer so you can email me as well. I’m considering getting a land line in Brooklyn.
Maun to Virgin Gorda, BVI

24 hours in NYC...
Recently I’ve been missing New York, and specifically, my little corner of Clinton Hill in Brooklyn. So if I had 24 hours in NYC…

Housewarming Party
I’m having a housewarming party on Saturday and I’ve invited everyone I know in Maun. I’m going to hang parrafin lanterns around my porch and serve American picnic food like cold chicken drumsticks, pesto pasta salad with feta and cherry tomatoes, lemon ricotta cookies, and brownies.
