My life in Maun, Botswana

Feb 11
I ordered a dining room table from my local carpenter, Kaiza.  He also made my coffee table last year.  I’m going to paint it the same glossy stop sign red as well.  I just have to figure out my timing though because the goats usually sleep on the porch and sometimes climb onto the table.  It’s fine now but won’t be once I’ve started to paint it.  I’m thinking that I’ll have to get their kraal (enclosure) finished before starting work on the table so they won’t mess up the paint job and get themselves covered in red oil paint in the process.  I am looking forward though to having breakfast outside on the porch and watching all the weavers, doves, starlings, and grey lorries while I drink coffee.
